Ivy Cottage Guest House & Self Catering Accommodation Braemar

A relaxing stay is offered in a choice of either Bed & Breakfast or Self Catering accommodation in tranquil and comfortable surroundings for guests to enjoy both sightseeing and sporting pursuits in the beautiful local area.

Set in the heart of Braemar village, you have views of the village centre from the front and are within a short stroll of the shops, cafes and restaurants of this picturesque Royal Deeside tourist village. To the back is a peaceful and secluded garden, attracting an abundance of wildlife, with views of the rolling hills beyond. In summary, Ivy Cottage is a perfect location!

I offer garage storage for bicycles, skis and golf clubs, a drying room for your wet outdoor gear (it sometimes rains in the Highlands!) and a laundry service. Free WiFi access is available throughout.

Braemar is located in the Cairngorms National Park. Famed for its Highland Gathering in September, attended by the Royal Family and several thousand others, it is an ideal location for active pursuits including walking, golf, cycling in the Cairngorms Park, skiing at Glenshee or the Lecht, salmon fishing on the Dee and stalking on the nearby estates, or for more leisurely sightseeing such as castles, whisky distilleries, shops and galleries, and just taking in the awesome scenery!

Guest House

The Guest House was built around the end of the 19th century. It offers three guest bedrooms, with en-suite facilities, to book on a bed and breakfast basis. I offer a hearty Scottish breakfast made with local produce where possible in the lovely breakfast room overlooking the garden – enjoy your breakfast watching the birds and red squirrels tucking into theirs! I offer packed lunches by prior arrangement.

Self Catering

I offer two self catering options, each for two people. The first is Ivy Guest Cottage; a one bedroom cottage, set over two floors. The second is The Bothy; a studio. Both are comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated, with full central heating and wood burning stoves. This is an ideal option for those wishing to stay in Braemar a little longer and explore Royal Deeside and beyond, or for those wishing a more independent stay.
